What are the Interphone studies?
Interphone Studies is the name given to a series of multinational studies of control cases to assess whether exposure to RF from mobile phones is associated with cancer risk. The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is coordinating the study. It also examines other potential environmental risk factors and endogenous. The cancers being studied are the auditory neuroma, glioma, and meningioma, and tumors of the parotid gland.
Participating countries include Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, and the UK. The main Interphone study investigators published a paper that provides details on epidemiological methods and a description of the population of the study (Cardis and colleagues, 2007).
